So what’s happened, been happening, or about to happen? I’ve been in writing mode and dealing with the mental aspects of “My Shit Year” which translates into “My Cancer Situation” as it’s been over a year since my last radiation. All things are looking good and I’m just about 100% physically with the exception of some occasional dryness in the throat. I’ve performed a few intimate stripped down shows recently with Mr Pie Fiorentino, and some of the new material deals with what I’ve gone through which means that I’ve gotten to talk a little bit about what happened. I don’t want to be the guy that brings up his cancer story as it’s not really conducive to having a good time, but it’s part of my life and music. As it turns out it’s also been cathartic, and I really appreciate everyone’s kind words & love. There’s a documentary called “The Hard Road” that’s coming out soon to a screen near you, and they followed me around during the worst of it, including radiation. Cannot thank Tommy Rickard, Kari Zanotto, & Brian Zalewski, for their sensitivity as well as the camera men for wrangling with my kids. This will be the first of many episodes documenting musicians and their lives, and I can’t wait to see what happens with these in the future.

Social Hall Sf
Jan 11th, 2017

Coming up on Jan 11th is gonna be our first full band show of 2017 and we’re stoked to be opening for Midge Ure, at Social Hall Sf, located below the Regency ballroom, and where the original Avalon Ballroom was. This venue has been doing shows and it’s a cool spot to see music. Midge is probably one of the most accomplished blokes in the UK and still tours his ass off. Check his Wiki page for starters. He’ll be bring his full band and covering all his bands from Silk, Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Visage, & Ultravox. I’ll be joined by Adam Rossi, Erik Schramm, Andrew Griffin, Pie Fiorentino & Joey Dibono, and we’ll be playing some new songs & telling more lies.

Last month on Sept 18th I had the amazing and distinct pleasure/honor of opening up for one of the most badass dudes that I’ve ever seen in Butch Walker. Opened up for him at Great American Music Hall, and he couldn’t have been nicer to me and put on an incredible show. His band could drink with the best of them and fun to hang out with. The man is tireless, writes incredibly catchy interesting tunes with weird and dark twists, which is right up my alley. I thought of him as the alt/country Todd Rundgren, as he is a way in demand producer, and plays everything extemely well. This was the last night of their tour and they blew the shit out. Go check out his new record Gold and tell me that I’m wrong. His fans were super attentive & appreciated them listening to me. One helluva night!

Lastly we’ve finally got the whole “Live @ Coast” show up on Youtube. If you were there, ya might remember all the good jokes, and if you weren’t, then your  gonna have to take a seat. Enjoy and thanks for listening.
